Saturday, January 21, 2006: Decatur County Democrats Fundraiser

Joyce Schulte will attend Decatur County's annual Democratic Party Fundraising event the 2006 Bean Soup Supper sponsored by the Decatur County Democratic Central Committee on Saturday, January 21, 2006. The event will be held at the Barnum Community Center in Decatur City from 5:00-9:00 PM.

Schulte to Announce Candidacy for Change in Congress
Will Return Reason and Respect to Western Iowa Representation

Creston, IA – Joyce Schulte will announce her candidacy to be Iowa’s next Congressperson from Iowa’s 5th Congressional District this Saturday, January 14 in a six-stop tour of the Western Iowa. Schulte will speak on a number of issues concerning Iowans and the American people.

Schulte talks about why she is running, "Western Iowans want and deserve to be represented by the highest possible level of integrity, compassion and knowledge in Congress. I will bring Iowa quality leadership to Capitol Hill. Iowa quality that will stop missteps like the FEMA disaster that happened after hurricane Katrina; will challenge every policy of the presidential administration to be honorable; and will not misrepresent history by hailing heroes where there are none and deriding the every day hero."

Schulte is Director of the Student Support Services program at Southwestern Community College in Creston, where she sees on a daily basis how government funding and policies can affect lives. She has a long history in the mental health field, education and family farming. A full biography will be available the day of the announcement at each location.
